but through your empty skin i’ve seen explores a glimpse into the bloodsome, deconstructed filmmaking process of beloved artist and filmmaker Jacob Wiebe.
Writing and directing since the early 2000s, Wiebe also meticulously illustrates his own storyboards and costume and character designs. Singular in its attention to detail, unhallowed and reverent, his voice is what remains through images of a once-incomplete offering. Wiebe’s work often belies a weighted preoccupation with grief as it connects to horror, history, and haunting. He is usually quite private about it.
